Rosewater Scented Sugar Scrub
- 2 cups (300 g) Redpath® Organic Sugar
- 4 tbsp (3 g) edible dried roses or dried rose petals
- ¼ cup (60 ml) extra virgin coconut oil, melted and cooled
- 3 tbsp (45 ml) rosewater
Using a mortar and pestle, finely grind rose petals, leaving a few larger pieces of petal for added texture and enhanced aesthetics.
In a bowl, add in the Redpath® Organic Sugar and the rose petals. Mix until thoroughly combined.
Pour in the coconut oil and the rosewater. Stir until everything is well blended together.
Spoon the organic sugar scrub into clean, sealable vessels such as ceramic or glass containers, or small mason jars.
Alternatively, you can make the scrub in a small food processor fitted with a metal blade. Add in the Redpath® Organic Sugar and dried roses or petals. Pulse several times until sugar is thoroughly blended with the roses and the roses are finely processed.
Add in the organic coconut oil and rosewater. Process until coconut oil is well blended with the organic sugar mixture.
*When available, use organic ingredients. Organic ingredients can be found online or in the organic aisle in your local grocery or health food store.
*Experiment using a mixture of flowers (eg. lavender, calendula, elderflower), and waters or essential oils.
*Decorate the jars containing the homemade sugar scrub with labels and ribbon for the perfect homemade gift.
*Sweet almond oil or extra virgin olive oil can be used instead of the coconut oil.
